The Landscape & Writing Reading Group was founded in 2012 in order to provide a forum for staff and students with a shared interest in literature, geography and the study of space, place and landscape. The group is run jointly by the members of the Spatial Humanities Project and the Department of English & Creative Writing at Lancaster University.
Readings for each term are selected on the basis of a common theme. During summer 2014 we will be exploring mountain landscapes and the literary heritage of mountaineering. We’ll also be co-hosting a special event and exhibition, Mountain Legacies, at the Newcastle Lit & Phil on 21 May.
Group meetings are open to everyone. Please contact us if you would like to receive announcements about our upcoming events.
